The Dragon and Woman of Revelation 12:15,16

Rev 12:15,16 -And the serpent poured water like a river out of his mouth after the woman, so that he might cause her to be swept away with the flood.  But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and drank up the river which the dragon poured out of his mouth.

"AND THE SERPENT" - And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. Revelation 12:9 

"POURED WATER" - The Bible symbolizes spiritual provisions as "water", because these are essential for life.

These can either be refreshingly healthful to impart everlasting life (John4:10,14; Joel3:18; Rev.22:1; Eze.47:7,8,9,12); or bitter poison to impart death (Rev.8:11; Jer.9:15; 23:15; Eze.34:19; 47:11). This adulterated "water", is Satan's deceptions and delusions, the realm of which is compared to the "sea"/"deep"/"abyss"/"pit"/"Sheol"/"hell" (Isa.51:10; Rev.13:1; 11:7; 8:8; 16:3;Zech.10:11; 14:8). 
Like sea water, it is undrinkable; except for those creatures which are "at home" in this sea, and naturally belong there (Eze.29:4; Amos4:2; Rev.20:13; 21:1; Jer.6:23; Rev.9:7,10; Isa.5:14). 
The abyss of death, is Satan's mouth (1Pet.5:8; Prov.27:20; 30:16). Satan/the "serpent", is over this sea/abyss/deep and the river that issues from it. (Job41:1,4,15,18,19,21,22,24,25,31,32,33,34; Rev.9:11,2,3; Eze.32:2; Job.26:6; Isa.27:1;Ps.74:14; Rev.12:3; Gen.3:15; Jer.51:35,36; Isa.11:15; Rev.16:12).

"OUT OF HIS MOUTH" - In the time of the end, Satan forcefully "spews" this fluid from his mouth. Because this water is aimed with force and direction, it is said to be "like a river"/"flood". 
What is Jesus telling us, when it says that this "water" comes from Satan's "mouth"? 

Jesus also said, 
"The devil....does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of the lie." (John8:44; Matt.15:11) Satan's "resources" are told to us... (Rev.16:13; 13:2; 2Chron.18:21). He is using the "false prophet" and the "Wild Beast", empowering that Beast and prophet with every worldly resource he possesses (Rev.13:2,11,13,7; Rev.9:1,10; Eze.14:15; Rev.13:17).

"LIKE A RIVER OUT OF HIS MOUTH AFTER THE WOMAN" - These spiritual "waters" that Satan spews at the "woman" (Through the Beast and false prophet), can not be the "living water" of Truth. No. This river from Satan's mouth (Matt.12:34; Num.21:6; Rev.9:2,3), are powerful lying signs and portents (2Thess.2:9), intended to destroy the "woman"/promise/New Covenant.

"SO THAT HE MIGHT CAUSE HER TO BE SWEPT AWAY WITH THE FLOOD" - Please consider how those of the woman/covenant, could be "carried away" by Satan's deceptions...

"BUT THE EARTH HELPED THE WOMAN" - The "earth" is not the "sea". The boundary between them, is the "shore" or, the "sands of the sea" (Rev.13:1). Satan is able to breach the "earth", through the Wild Beast which comes from the sea, but comes up onto the earth. The "sea" is made of spiritual Gentiles along with the deceptive powers that keep them blinded. Within the "earth" are the unsealed priests/spiritual "Jews", symbolized by "trees" within the "earth" (Rom.2:29; Isa.61:3; 1Cor.3:9).

It is important to note that at this later point in context when the "earth" helps the woman, the "woman" and the "earth" are distinguished as separate. In verse 12 we read:

"Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.”

This woe occurs to the "earth" (Rev.7:3; 9:4; Eze.32:18,19) after all that are to be taken from it, are sealed in heaven . At the point that the "earth" helps the "woman", they are already separated....weed anointed who have not proven faithful (earthRev.12:4; 2Pet.3:7,10; James3:15), from wheat anointed who are sealed (heavens Eph.2:6; Rev.12:5; Col.3:1; Luke10:19;Rev.14:3,4; Heb.12:22,23 "from among mankind"/from the "earth"/from the "tribes of Israel" -Rev.14:3,4; 7:4; Rom.2:28,29;Matt.22:14) ("Mankind", "earth", and "Israel" are each symbolic for the same identity.) 

Any anointed left behind as part of the earth, are not sealed. Those "taken" from the earth, are sealed (Matt.24:40,28;Rev.12:14). Rev.12:17 terms them, "the remaining ones of the woman's seed".

The woman/Covenant is "helped" by those who fail, because it is precisely by their failure that the distinction between the "wheat and weeds" is accomplished (Mal.3:18; Matt.13:30; Rev.10:5,6). When Jesus "raises his right hand to heaven (Rev.10:5), remember, that within his right hand are the anointed stars (Rev.1:20; Zech.4:10). He lifts the last ones up to heaven, as sealed. Now there will be no more delay (Rev.10:5,6; Dan.12:7 c; Eze.12:28)!

It may not seem likely that the failure of some anointed "help"s the Covenant to survive Satan's deceptions, [and her seed to receive the crown of life (Rev.2:10)]; but the very persecution and expulsion, (spiritual "death") inflicted by the unfaithful, is what seals each member of both sides (Rev.6:9,11; 17:6; 11:7; Luke21:19; 2Cor.12:10; James1:2; Matt.5:11,12; Rom.5:3,4). 

In addition, as these who fail are mislead into deepening lawlessness (Matt.24:12), it helps awaken others as to the error (Matt.24:15).
What scriptural evidence is there, to prove that the "earth" swallowing Satan's lies, does not mean that they are destroying those lies, but are "swallowing"/believing them? (Matt.23:24; 2Cor.11:4,20)

"AND THE EARTH OPENED ITS MOUTH AND DRANK UP THE RIVER WHICH THE DRAGON POURED OUT OF HIS MOUTH" - (Eze.32:2; 34:19; Isa.30:28)
We need only look at the other verses which talk about this same "earth", to see.
Rev.12:4,9,12; 19:2,19; 16:1,2,14; 1:7; 17:2,4,8; 14:18,19; (Joel3:13) Rev.11:10,18; 8:5; 20:2,11; 6:10,13; 13:3,8,12,14

Do these verses sound like the earth destroys Satan's lies, 
or like the earth swallows/believes them, so that the earth is mislead?

Human's can not contend with Satanic deception on their own (Job41:8,9,10,11,26,27,28,29; Eph.6:10,11,13; Rev.13:4;16:13,14,15).
Any who do not have the protection of holy spirit (Zech.4:6; Luke21:36), will not succeed in rising up from the "earth", to join the new "heavens" (Matt.24:24; Luke10:19; Rev.14:3,4; 5:9; Heb.12:22,23; 11:16; Phil.3:20; 2Tim.4:18; 2Pet.3:13).

There is also the belief that the "earth" is the sealed anointed, and that these "swallow" Satan's lies in the form of destroying those lies through their writings...swallowing them up as Jehovah "swallows up death forever" (Isa.25:8). It is thought that in this way, those anointed writers/witnesses, save the woman Covenant. This is good reasoning. But in harmony with the scriptural interpretation of the above article...
the "earth" saves the woman, by being surrendered to Satan's power (they swallow and believe Satan's lies)....and replace the woman as Satan's victim.
In a sense, they become a ransom exchange in place of the woman/Covenant; so that instead of Satan drowning the woman, the earth is given instead (Luke17:26,27). This is righteous on God's part, because his people ("earth"/"land") want it that way.(2Thess.2:10,11,12; Jer.5:31; Isa.28:15,17,18,19,21,22)

By the earth's desire to swallow Satan's lies; a clear distinction is established between these disloyal ones, and genuine lovers of Jehovah and truth (Mal.3:18; 2Chron.16:9; Zech.4:10). That successful sifting spares the "woman" Covenant, by causing the remaining ones of her seed to take their solid stand for truth, despite the threats and pains incurred. (Eze.3:8,9; Isa.50:8;Matt.24:21,22; Rev.12:11; 6:9; 20:4).

Regarding Matt.15:11; Jesus was teaching the Jews that physical statutes matter less than the spiritual lesson and application behind the symbolism of those physical statutes. He was speaking of literal material forbidden foods as not defiling a person's spirit. 

However, 
this "river" being disgorged from Satan's mouth is not literal and material. As the rest of Revelation's symbols, it has spiritual meaning and application. Taking Satan's misleading deceptions into ones self (as the "earth" does, at Rev.12:16), does corrupt. Scriptures which shows this, are 2Cor.11:3; Gen.3:1,3.
